Child Safety Policy

Last Updated:

BeatSphere ("BeatSphere," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to creating a safe and positive environment for all its users. While BeatSphere is intended for users aged 13 and older (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction), we recognize the critical importance of protecting children online. This policy outlines our stance against Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE) and the measures we take to uphold child safety.

1. Our Commitment to Child Safety

BeatSphere has a zero-tolerance policy towards any content or conduct that exploits, abuses, or endangers children. We are committed to preventing our platform from being used for activities related to Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) or any form of child exploitation.

Our Terms of Service explicitly prohibit users from sharing illegal content, including material that exploits children, and from engaging in harassment or any behavior that could be harmful, especially towards minors.

2. Age Requirements and Verification

BeatSphere is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13 (or the relevant age of consent in their jurisdiction). We require users to confirm they meet this age requirement during the registration process.

While we rely on user self-attestation for age, we will take action to remove accounts if we become aware they belong to underage users, especially if there are concerns about safety or exploitation.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected such information, we will take steps to delete it as soon as possible. Our Privacy Policy provides more details on data collection and children's privacy.

3. Safety Measures

BeatSphere implements the following measures to help protect younger users and maintain a safe environment:

  • Content filtering: Automated profanity and inappropriate content filtering is applied to all chat messages (both global chat and direct messages).
  • User reporting system: Users can report other users directly within the app for spam, harassment, hate speech, inappropriate content, impersonation, or other violations. All reports are reviewed by our team.
  • Location privacy: While the map shows approximate user locations, we implement safeguards including location obfuscation in certain features to protect user safety.
  • Moderation: Our team reviews reported content and user behavior. Violations result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent termination.

4. Prohibited Content and Conduct

Our platform prohibits any content or activity that involves or promotes:

  • Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM).
  • Grooming or solicitation of minors.
  • Sexualization or exploitation of children.
  • Any form of child endangerment.
  • Sharing of personal information about minors without appropriate consent.
  • Using location features to track, stalk, or monitor minors.

Users found engaging in such activities or sharing such content will have their accounts terminated immediately and will be reported to law enforcement authorities, including organizations like the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) or equivalent international bodies.

5. Reporting Concerns and Violations

We urge our users and the wider community to report any content or behavior on BeatSphere that they believe violates this Child Safety Policy or involves the exploitation or endangerment of a child.

How to Report:

  • In-App Reporting: Use the report feature available on user profiles within the BeatSphere app. Select the appropriate reason (such as "inappropriate content" or "harassment") and provide as much detail as possible.
  • Email: Send a detailed report to our safety team at beatspherecommunity@gmail.com. Please include usernames, screenshots, descriptions of the content or behavior, and any relevant context.

All reports related to child safety are treated as high priority and are reviewed promptly.

6. Our Enforcement and Response Process

Upon receiving a report concerning child safety:

  • Our team will promptly review the reported content or conduct against our policies.
  • If a violation is confirmed, we will take immediate action, which may include content removal, account suspension, or permanent account termination.
  • In cases involving illegal content, particularly CSAM, we will preserve evidence and report the incident to relevant law enforcement agencies and organizations such as NCMEC.
  • We cooperate fully with law enforcement investigations related to child safety.
  • When an account is terminated for child safety violations, all associated data (messages, location history, audio drops, and profile information) is preserved for law enforcement purposes before deletion.

7. Guidance for Parents and Guardians

If your child uses BeatSphere (for users aged 13 and older with parental consent where required), we recommend:

  • Reviewing the app's features, particularly the real-time location sharing and chat functionality, to understand what information is visible to other users.
  • Discussing appropriate online behavior and the importance of not sharing personal information with strangers.
  • Configuring device-level location permissions to control when and how the app accesses location data.
  • Reviewing notification preferences and chat settings together.
  • Encouraging your child to report any uncomfortable interactions using the in-app reporting feature.
